Upcoming designers at BFC Newgen (London): Thomas Tait & Jackie Lee
In February from the 18th to 22nd several upcoming designers will present their collections at BFC, during London fashion week. Most of them come from the prestigious Central San Martin fashion school, where young talents as Alexander Mc Queen born. Starring of this edition will be Thomas Tait and Jackie Lee.
Thomas Tait graduated last year ,in 2010. His first Spring/summer collection was presented at Wilkinson Gallery to buyers and press last autumn , he won the Dorchester collection Fashion prize 2010, and was chosen by Asos to realize a capsule collection for the on-line store. According to Thomas, Style means elegance. His keyword is MINIMALISM, his creations are like sculptures, structured and full of edges, made with solids and noble tissues and they're dedicated to the androgynous women.
Jackie Lee is a Korean young designer. In 2010 she won the prestigious Harrods design award and she presented her first collection - called J.JS Lee- during the Blueprint fashion week at Singapore.
Jackie's style is truly essential and full of signs, she's clearly influenced by Russian Constructivism movement . As her colleague, her style is made for the androgynous women, but she's different from Tait about the materials. She uses light and soft tissues creating clothes at the same time hard and sophisticated
