EIGHTY8PERCENT FOR INSPIRER - PARIS
This week we feature Susan, 30, who works in marketing and design. Susan also has a shop on etsy where she sells some of her creations.
Between bracelets, sweet pouches and tie and dye scarves, Susan leads us to discover her collections via her trendy and colorful universe.
Who are your favorite designers?
Phillip Lim and Alexander Wang are probably my favorite big designers, but I also love discovering younger lines and newer designers with really interesting points of view. I love innovation, doing something unexpected with traditional materials, and defined shapes and clean lines
.
Which are your favorite pieces in your collection?
I love the sunglasses cases, transparents are so trendy now, and I love the pop of color you get at the end of each case. Plus, you can see which pair of glasses is in there, so you don't have to open and check! I also love the black patent pouch/clutch, because the patent leather isn't your typical flat, shiny patent. It's washed, so it has a really cool, bumpy texture underneath the patent shine.
My other favorite is the shibori circle scarves, because they come in such vibrant colors and it's an easy way to add a pop of color to any outfit. They're so fun to make, too; you're surprised every time by the results of the dye!
Your inspirations?
I'm inspired by New York City and having the opportunity to be exposed to so many different cultures, styles, and people! I get inspired by colors, textures, shapes, textile patterns and unusual fabrics, and the types of things I make are based on the needs one has in urban living - totes, bags, cases, fun jewelry.
The rest of America can store things in their cars, but in New York, you keep what you need with you at all times!
How to define your universe
My universe is made up of my family, my friends, and the inspiration I find in all the crazy things you can see in New York!
