UNITED KINDOM FESTIVAL UPDATES

As Summer is fast approaching, we are being hit with a wave of great festivals this year throughout the UK. With so much going on it's hard to keep up; so here are the newest and most exciting changes to our upcoming festivals including Sonisphere, Slam Dunk and Download.

Sonisphere - Five Bands Added

Sonisphere festival, which takes place between July 8 and July 10 at Knebworth House, already has popular acts Metallica, Biffy Clyro and Slipknot as their main headlines. With crowds expected to be massive already, Sonisphere have managed to secure the addition of five new bands to this years line up. Japanese Voyeurs, Turbogeist, No Americana, Lower Than Atlantis and You And What Army are the latest, and supposed last additions to this years festival, whom can be seen alongside many other brilliant acts across the scheduled three dates.

Slam Dunk Festival - Kerrang! reveal stage opener

This years Slam Dunk Festival takes place at Leeds on May 28, and Hatfield on May 29th and will mark the festivals 10 year anniversary. Last month Kerrang! teamed up with Tom DeLonge (Blink 182, Angels & Airwaves) as well as Josh Franceschi (You Me At Six) to pick a band to open up the Kerrang! Introducing Stage at both festival dates. After much deliberation it has been revealed that the London-based band Adelaide are set to open up and are completely overwhelmed at the support they have received.

Judge, Tom DeLonge also felt as though the other five finalists: Follow You Home, They Say Fall, Red Kyte, As We Climb and The Rookie League deserved a special shout out.

Download Festival - Campsite Mascots

Whilst this is less musically related, Download which takes place between 10 - 12 July in Donington Park have announced their mascots which will be representing each information point at the festival.
