GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL REVIEW 2011.

150,000 people, hundreds of acts and enough mud to swim in, Glastonbury Festival ticked all the boxes, as it does every year.  Friday had rain, an inevitable fate for Glastonbury, however it did not dampen the spirits of the mud covered festival goers. Biffy Clyro put on an interesting performance, with each band member ditching their t-shirts for the performance, much to the approval of the enthusiastic crowd. Playing Mountains as a show closer they exited the stage leaving a very happy, if not slightly wet, crowd. U2 were the Friday head liners, and although they put on a good show, with pyrotechnics and fire works, they were not the highlight of the weekend. Saturday brought the sunburn. Jessie J played the Other Stage, and despite a broken foot her glamorous performance went down a storm. Being forced to sit down her whole show, did little to her stage presence and the crowd loved every minute. A few hours later and Coldplay hit the stage. With fireworks, lights and even giant balloons in the crowd, they had everybody signing along. Performing classics along with a few new songs they really did lighten up the night and set the bar for the weekends acts. Sunday, and the last acts of the festival. Pendulum were second to last, and they put on an amazing performance. With a huge stage set up and lights to correspond with their songs, they deserved every cheer. Beyonce was the final act on the Pyramid stage, with a performance that surprised everyone. Wearing a revealing gold number she even got close to crowd to thank them. Her sexy dance moves left little to the imagination but it was the perfect end to a muddy, yet sunny Glastonbury weekend. Glastonbury isn't happening next year, and this was a perfect goodbye, even though plans are already in place for 2013, and I have no doubt it will be amazing.
