CONJURING UP THE LATEST TREASURES: DISNEY COUTURE
As a young girl, fairy tales held a special place in my heart for so many years. More specifically, Disney stories left an imprint on my heart that I could never erase. In continuing this tradition, I never wanted to let go of the idea that princesses are real, people fall in love, and somehow animals could talk.
At some point in my youth, it became clear that I had to grow up. I had to allow nature to take its course and began to think and act like a young woman. Slowly, the elements of these fairy tales, that were once so appealing, started to fade from my imagination and become replaced with "real life," and responsibility. At which point in life do you think that we have to let go of our past, and the things that once helped to shape or mold our creativity and happiness?
With the recent Academy Award Winner being Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, it got me really thinking about how much influence movies like this truly do influence mature audiences today. The captivation that I gained from the vibrant color palette and vivid hues chosen for the costume designs in the 2010 film was incredible. Being constantly reminded of the youthfulness that the directors and those involved in the making of this motion picture gave me an inspiration to encapsulate my own youth in some ways that I haven't done in a long time.
Although I have grown up, the appreciation that I have for Disney stories has grown into a special memoir that I'm reminded of often. It is through tiny gold keyholes that we remember what it was like to first hear the story of Cinderella, or Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Some tiny gold keyholes that have now been incorporated into a dimension of the accessories industry in the form of jewelry depicting specific parts to those stories that we all love and miss. One cannot neglect to see that the designer of the jewelry line,Disney Couture, must have had this same genuine appreciation for the art of Disney, and discovered a way to turn it into mature pieces that are timeless to a woman of any age.
Through these small trinkets, necklaces, rings, bracelets, and all forms of jewels, we are each reminded the story that comes through with each time we wear it. The story of a native american woman who falls in love with a british settler, or the young blonde girl who can dream the unthinkable and meets a mad hatter wise and cooky beyond his years. These are the stories that will always set our hearts at peace and it is nothing less then magical to discover a jewelry line that gives us that same feeling we did when we first read these famous stories as children.
