DIESEL HOME COLLECTION #DESIGN WEEK
A new everyday mythology tells of the fundamental values, self-expression and the different product lines dedicated to everyday life: this is the heart of “The Mythology of the Everyday”, the contemporary fairytale told by Diesel at the Fuorisalone 2012 to present its Home Collection entitled “Successful Living from Diesel” produced in conjunction with Foscarini for the Lighting sector, Moroso for the Furniture sector and Scavolini for kitchens.
Objects and settings are coloured with new meanings and stories, distributed across five “worlds” - dedicated to the various product families, the new products, and the special stylings and visions - which are woven together and overlap one another, to form a map of an emotional and visual narration of a contemporary lifestyle.
The centre of this space will feature the “New products”, presented so as to emphasise the continuity, differences and contrasts of the collections. Next to these, the absolute preview of the new “Social” Kitchen, conceived as the perfect "party room" in the home, in line with the Diesel philosophy.
The spotlight is cast on the different processes, treatments, finishes and materials. This is “Textures”, one of the other areas of the installation: soft fabrics and rough details, placed side by side harmoniously or in bold contrast, prove to play the leading role in the Diesel world and in its casual soul.
A natural expression of the easy approach which distinguishes both clothing and lifestyle, the home is decorated with simplicity, immediacy, relaxation and comfort. And this is exactly what has been captured in “Casual Comfort”, defining luxury according to Diesel.
Yet without forgoing its rock spirit. Audacity and a sprinkling of cheekiness, anti conformism and a touch of transgression are what make up Diesel's recipe for the “Dark” home which can also be turned into an underground nightclub for a night... to dance until dawn.
Many worlds that blend together, in a post-digital, almost abstract environment: the perfect confirmation of how, in 2012, it is still possible to add dream and legend, fantasy and myth to the world around us.
